This Dutch band produces groove pop-rock that makes me wish I was driving my car through the greatest valleys of the USA. The uptempo opener makes me want to take the roof off my car and feel the wind play with my hair. “Change”, the second track, is grooving from the first chords till the closing notes. The guitars go nuts and the vocalmelodies are catchy as hell. The vocalist proves to be up for the job, I absolutey dig the punk influence in his vocals that make most songs crisp. “Sexy Jesus” shows a different side of the band. | |
Laid back jazzy tunes that are laid back rather than groovy. There is a nice refrain, but despite the delightful closing section, this is one isn’t as good as the more uptempo tracks. One of the main caracteristics of Plastic Soul is the reference to pop history. It’s obvious that bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys and the Kinks are of influence on the band. “A Collection Of Most Memorable Tunes” is a proper title for a surprizingly good album. (Geert) |
