Atmospheric tunes, grand piano, laid back drums, Karius start off on the right foot with their new album “Kaleidoscope”. The music dwells ... a break ... and then the bass player takes control with a awkward solo. The listener is being misleaded. One would have expected that this moment marks the start of prog mayhem, but instead there is another guitar solo, another break, another guitar solo, a break, more piano, a couple seconds up tempo and another guitar solo. | |
After another guitar solo there is a nice break, some piano and a guitar solo (one I remember I have heard before). The cd is spinning for five minutes now. There is a guitar solo with some drums here. Whow, some drumming! The second track starts off with piano, the bass player takes over. What’s next? I’m ready to hit the skipp buton. If I don’t hit the button right now I’m sure to fall asleep.... Where am I ... right, the eight track. No more! (Geert) |
