If you’re interested in punk rock ‘n roll in the vain of New York Dolls, Hanoi Rocks and The Clash you should consider checking out the new Shock Nagasaki album “Year Of The Spy”. The ablum features twelve energetic punk songs with dominant role for roaring guitars. In my opinion these guitars too dominant. You can barely hear the (flat) drums and I had to check the booklet to see if the album features a bass guitar at all.

Another thing I do not like is the multiple vocals that reminds me too much of high school rumble. I would have prefered a more mature sound. “Year Of The Spy” is not a bad album because of the energy it boosts. Music wise things could have been better though.
