As a big trash-metal fan myself I like to check out as much trash releases as possible. Sometimes they`re incredible and sometimes they`re truly trash. Reckless Tide for me is somewhere in the middle. It isn`t great, it isn`t bad either. Reckless Tide play old-school trash in vein of Testament and (the old) Metallica. The bay area influences of the late eighties come to mind.

Helleraser is the Hannover band`s second album and will be released on Armegeddon music. The band started in 2000 and managed to play a few big shows like Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock. The music is played pretty tight and Reckless Tide have some nice guitar riffs.

Jeff Waters (Annihilator) and Hendrik Bache (Dew Scented) make a guest appearence on Helleraser.

On a few parts I don`t really get the way the drums are fitted to the guitar riffs. It`s like the drummer doesn`t really feel the riff. This takes away a lot of flow and that`s a shame. The songs are chatchy enough to stick into your head all day and the songwriting could predict a succesful future. But Helleraser doesn`t have what it takes to meet the top.
