I think it was about ten years ago when I heard the name Manowar for the first time . A friend of mine told me something about a Manowar live show. He told me that in the front of the stage there were some fans with real Viking suits and even swords. These fans visited every gig from that Manowar tour. Since that time I know that Manowar has a very dedicated fanbase. It was four years ago that Manowar released their last studio album.
There are several reasons for the delay and the most important one is of course the bike accident guitar player Karl Logan had. But Logan is back on his feet again and Manowar released their first EP in the band history.

The EP starts with a kind of intro so the second song on the album is actually the first song. The song “King Of Kings” is a live recording from the Earthshaker fest last year. The EP features three new songs, “Odin”, “Gods Of War” and “The Sons Of Odin”. These tracks are strong with a lot of classic influence and complete with clashing weapons.

The EP contains everything Manowar stands for.
Vocalist Eric Adams is just as the rest of the band in good shape. The guy again shows us how high his voice can go, I think that he has one of the best voices in the metal scene.

There are two versions from this EP, the immortal version and the jewel case version. When you buy the immortal version you get a bonus DVD with it. On this DVD you can find a documentary about the fan convention from last year, some pictures, a promotional trailer for Earthshaker Fest 2005 and a practice session from the songs “Heart Of Steel” (originally from Manowar’s album “Kings Of Metal”). Manowar had this practice session with a choir and orchestra in the Czech Republic. The last one is really nice for the fans because the video is pure and shot with one camera.
Manowar released a nice teaser for the upcoming DVD and album.
