Split cd from two punkbands who are playing different punk from eachother. The first four songs are from Mercy Killers. I scream re-released the first 4 songs before their first album saw light a few weeks ago. Mercy Killers is an interesting band. On a song like ‘Not About You’ they remind me of some safe westcoast punk band, but while the song is busy, there is a sort of dark and horror feeling that grabs you by the throat. There is a lot of threat on the songs. A sort of mix between AFI, TSOL and Pennywise. I’m curious about their full length, cause with songs like ‘Lust For Hope’ (with a lot of melancholy) and ‘End Transmission’ they have my interest and sympathy.

Enemy Rose is not exactly my cup of tea. Old School Punkrock like The Clash and Dead Boys with members from the Heartaches. They definitely got some hooks in their songs. Sometimes surprisingly catchy vocals, but it never gets ‘modern’, the sound is old school and the music is, with a lot of midtempo parts and a lot of rock and roll influences. This comes out best in a song like ‘The Way It Is’. Altough this is not my favourite style of music, they surprised me.

It’s worth to buy this cd, these bands deserve to be heard and you get the cool digipack artwork with it.
