Since Mirror of Deception is - besides Dawn of Winter - Germany’s longest running traditional doom metal act, I was very curious to hear this new release.

Shards will not knock you off your socks since it isn’t that surprising. It consists of 10 tracks that are all low-tempo, melodic and, unfortunately, boring.

The only highlight I can name is the second track, “Ghost”, which is more emotional and melancholic than the other tracks.

For me this was a disappointing release, I expected more. Mirror of Deception didn’t do anything special for this third release.
