Exactly like the name Twilight Ophera does expect, there are a lot of orchestral elements on this melodic black metal release. With “Descension”, the fourth full length of this band, Twilight Ophera brings us a surprising strong release.

I can’t name any hightlights, because all the tracks are near perfect, but I can tell that Mikko Häkkinen does an exceptional great job on the vocals.

He alternates from screams to grunts to wining. All the tracks are diverse, they variate from heavy to opera-like, just like the vocals.

For me this release is definitely one of the best of 2006, while normally I don’t like black metal that much. To everyone: Buy this album, it’s worth it!
