To proceed their forthcoming album Grave Digger released a first single, entitled Yesterday. With it comes a DVD of their performance at the Roch Machine Festival in 2001. On this single you can find two versions of Yesterday. However, this isn’t a new song. The band already recorded it in the eighties, and can be found on their debut-album Heavy Metal Breakdown. The 2006-version is all cleaned up and sounds more up to date. The second version of “Yesterday” is an ochestra version, but it’s pretty obvious the music wasn’t recorded with an actual ochestra.

I don’t really like this one. The second track on the single is The Reaper’s Dance, which takes us back to the good old Grave Digger days. Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter has been covered several times and although Grave Digger has put their own touch to this song, I’ve heard better covered versions of it. Overall, we can look forward to the new album, which will be released January 2007.
