Slayer from Germany a.k.a. Kreator is back. This time with a DVD called ‘Enemy Of God Revisited’. You can check out the live show they played at the Wacken Open Air festival and a short bonus-show. You see the making of the videoclip for the song ‘Enemy Of God’. All the old videoclips are on this disc and you can hear the entire ‘Enemy Of God’ album.

The sound of the live shows is pretty good and raw at the same time. You can tell that Kreator plays really tight and that not everything is too much studio-adjusted. The making of ... is nice, I personally always enjoy those ‘backstage’ kind of things. And to have all the older video’s at home is cool, you never know when you might need them. But that’s where it stops. A DVD to me is a great opportunity for a band to show what and who they are.

Not just on stage, but also in the backstage area before a show, in their tourbus, hanging around with other bands, in the studio and maybe even their homes. Those are the things I always like to see, and are missing on this DVD.

These days you see a lot of bands throwing in extras to get their album sold. Live shows, videoclips, interviews etc. And that is actually the feeling I get with this DVD, a great bonus DVD to combine with your new album. Don’t get me wrong, the stuff on this DVD is nicely done and looks really professional and for the die-hard Kreator fan this is a must-have. But I wouldn’t spend my money on this. If you don’t own the ‘Enemy of God’ album (2005) though, this is not a bad deal. You get the album on DVD + the extra features.
