Industrial from South Florida, including tons of make up. Looking at the band photo, I am wondering what is more important to this band; Image or Music. Everyone can look like Kovenant/Marilyn Manson clones, but if your music sucks you`ll lose and your image will become outdated. Let me concentrate on the music of Deadstar Assembly. On some message boards I read that they have a pretty large fanbase in the US. Dedicated fans consider Unsaved one of the best albums of this year. Well, that`s a little bit too much credit. Openers Unsaved pt.1 and pt.2 sound promising; beats, a sort of frightening atmosphere and a cool riff. But after these two songs the music starts to change into the industrial sound of bands like Orgy and Godhead.

Particularly Orgy in the songs Killing Myself Again and Naive. The music is carried by repeating riffs and keyboard rhythms. Sometimes this combination works out well, like in And as she will fail. The problem with this music is that I have heard it so many times before and often better. I also wonder how seriously I have to take this band, with member`s nicknames as Mubo, The dro and Cyggy, the make up, the practically stolen lines from Orgy, Godhead, Gravity Kills and Marilyn Manson. I have some doubts about this band. If this record was released in 2002, there would be much more attention for this cd. Nowadays, there are too many of these light industrial bands.
