Melechesh has been around for a while now. They describe their music as Sumerian thrashing black metal or Mesopotamian metal. Whatever they call it, I like it. It`s aggressive, it`s original and it kicks ass.

In 2004 the Dutch drummer Xul (Thanatos, ex-Liar Of Golgotha) joined the band in favour of Absu frontman Proscriptor. And since the guys from Melechesh live in Holland since 1998, this seems a logical choice.
The combination of the eastern influences, thrash and black metal are great on Emissaries.

It enhances the diversity of the album. As do the vocals. Ashmedi uses some cool black metal vocals which are followed by some choir chants now and then.

My personal favourites are `Ladders To Sumeria`, `Deluge Of Delusional Dreams` and `Emissaries And The Mysterium Magnum`. Emissaries also contains a bonus track which is a five-minute improvised jam session.
