Well, the search for a new single has started. It’s difficult to avoid, because the success of “My Own Worst Enemy” still echoes through the radio and TV stations. On ‘Atomic’ there is actually no copy of this song (although “She Comes” has got a recognisable guitar riff underneath it). This CD got some, mostly, up-tempo happy tunes, but there are actually no real highlights. Put this CD in your stereo and you imagine that you drive through sunny L.A. Strangely enough this record reminds me of the Dutch band the Travoltas. LIT got the same punk pop meets Beach Boys feeling into their music. The trouble for this band is that the current music scene is flooded with bands like this (read Blink 182, SUM41 and many more) and that the fans of this type of music constantly are on the search for the ‘next big thing’ (and if the band reaches that level, they decide that the band isn’t good enough anymore).

Best song is probably the bonus track (?) on this record: “Over My Head”. This song attracts the attention and shouts ‘single, single…’ all the way. In the end it’s justified to conclude that LIT produces an album that’s easy to listen to, but it’s not a record that will shock the world. Just for fans and punk pop adepts…
