I don’t know why, but when I received this cd I expected to hear a metalcore band. Instead I got a death metal band, which is nice for a change. Crimson Falls is a Belgium band and I heard that they’re working hard in making a name for themselves. Their name also reached my house, so I guess they’re doing a good job. The True Face Of Human Nature is their first full-length and is a combination of European and American death metal mixed with some modern influences. I can also name Meshuggah and Textures as an inspiration I guess, because Crimson Falls use a lot of the chaotic and off-beat parts that these bands are known for. | |
Since this is the band’s first album I expect them to grow a lot, because this album isn’t quite there yet. Some of the guitar riffs don’t really fit the drums and vice versa. Also the song structure is too chaotic to stick into your head. When you’re halfway through the album, it gets hard to listen to because of this. On the other hand you can hear that the band has a lot of potential, perhaps their second full-length will show Crimsons true face.
