Cheesy Victims are one of the bands in the second wave of nu-metal bands in Holland, but after hearing their self-titled demo EP, I think labelling this band as simply ‘nu-metal’ doesn’t cover their diversity. I imagine these guys listen to a lot of different musical styles, because their songs are best described as ‘Carcass, System of a Down, Primus, Slipknot, Tool and Biohazard put into blender’. Although the quality of recording isn’t very good, the 5 songs this EP counts are very crisp and refreshing. CV breaks all rules of metal, and crosses several genres during their songs, but still manage to keep their song structure together.

During some of their live performances, CV have teamed up with the Dr. Mad Freakshow, adding a very powerful visual segment to the music. I haven’t witnessed it myself (yet), but I can imagine this to be very entertaining to watch and listen to. Right now, CV are busy trying to get signed, but until there is a full album available, check out their website for music and info.
