This Canadian band was born in 2002 when some long time friends wanted to make no-nonsense rock ‘n roll. The called their band Chariot Of Shame.
In my opinion no-nonsense rock ‘n roll means a lot of beer and after that you’re not able to play or talk. This band didn’t drink enough because they put seven songs on an album.
Ok, enough nonsense. Chariot Of Shame plays rock ‘n roll like old guys who think they are in their second youth. When I close my eyes while listening to this album I see my dad with a guitar and a big smile on stage.
I’m not sure if I can take this band serious, the music they make is indeed no-nonsense rock ‘n roll but sometimes I think the band members take it to serious while their saying it’s just for the fun. | |
With the song ‘Let It Suck’ they think they are funny by singing: “this is the worst song I ever heard”. I don’t think they’re funny, it sounds a little bit too serious for me.
Chariot Of Shame has to work very hard to make their sound more their own sound. At this album they sound if they wanted to be somebody or some band. I want to say to the band, make the music more your own and stay practicing. But when you guys are just in this for the fun of it, just stay doing you own thing and have a lot of laughs!
