I never heard of this band called: A Day To Remember, but hearing the name I thought that it had to be a band with the typical popular emocore sound.
The first seconds of this album sound like a fast modern punk song with clean vocals (that’s the typical emo sound to me and that’s also the sound Victory is releasing too much nowadays).

This release has got al the popular sounding ingredients. The ingredients for this popular meal are:
- clean vocals (most of the time)
- fast punkish sounding guitars - some mosh parts
- some grunts
- singing about daily life
- sing-a-long stuff to keep the hardcore kids satisfied
- a piano track with a “group feeling”
- and off course a DIY mentality
With a DIY mentality bands try to make a statement nowadays, while 20 years ago all the bands did it without help from the internet and mobile phones.

This is something that the American youth really likes and they call this “the underground music”. As you might have mentioned this album isn’t one of my favourites.
Another important ingredient is the clean production of this album. Everything sounds so perfect. It’s a bit too perfect for me.

Listening to this album didn’t make this day memorable – when I was ten years younger and had the emo look however this album would have really been in my top five from this moment. So kids check this out!
