This is my first introduction with Since The Flood. No Compromise is the band’s Metalblade debut. It’s hard to write anything about this release because Since The Flood does what has been done so many times before. Now this is not a big problem, because this happens a lot in hardcore. But STF misses too much of an own face to stand out the way bands like Hatebreed, Terror, and Madball do. The band reminds me of Terror the most, but lacks the brutality to be called their equals. On the other hand the band uses energy effectively and as you listen to No Compromise more than often you do get sucked into the shout-along parts that hardcore is known for.

No Compromise is a nice hardcore album that will be loved by the die-hard old school hardcore fans. This release won’t have a great impact on modern music and will neither change the face of hardcore. I can’t end this without saying something about the terrible bass guitar sound; it’s a big shame and makes the overall good production irritate a little bit.
