When I received the package of this band called Marazene I wasn’t really impressed. The promo package contained a lot of papers, different biographies, and wasn’t really clear.

Marazene is a band from Chicago and they play industrial. Somewhere in their biography I read that they are featured with three songs on the Matrix Revolutions DVD. When you know the movie I think you already know what we can expect by listening to this album.

The sound from this Chicago-based band is in the vein of Marilyn Manson and Korn, but then more industrial and clean. Marazene creates the same aggressive feeling on this album as the mentioned bands create on their albums. The only difference is that this band doesn’t keep my attention.

It gets boring after two songs.
The boredom is maybe to blame on the polished sound. The sound is too clean; the producer did a very good job for people who love this. I really don’t like this clean sound. This clean sound is something that reminds me of a theatre or cinema.

I understand why the people from The Matrix (the movie – not the producing team) choose for this music to feature in their movie. The music on this album sounds a lot better when I imagine watching a movie.
After listening again to this album I didn’t change my mind about this band. The music is too busy, with too much samples. Perfect music for a movie but not to listen to at home. That’s why I’ll give it a six.
