Some people love Zero Mentality and some people hate Zero Mentality. I’m with the group that loves these German freaks. I still listen to their debut-album a lot, so I was really looking forward to their newest effort.
There’s also a group of people who never heard of this band. Here’s a short introduction for them: Zero Mentality is a band from Germany, the band plays hardcore with punk, metal and rock influences. The guys are almost every day of the year on tour and shared stages with bands like Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Terror, let’s just say all the big ones in the scene. Their first demo was such a success that some label released it as a 7inch. In 2005 they released their debut album on GSR Music. This debut album (In Fear Forever) is one of the most refreshing debuts from the last years. After that Zero Mentality did what every band should do, they toured their balls of. And in 2007 it’s time for the new album called Invite Your Soul.

And again is this a killer album. It takes three or four listening sessions to like it, the first time I was really disappointed but after a while I started to love it.

This band has got a very own sound and they really try to do something different. This album has got everything Zero Mentality stands for. Bilingual lyrics, piano parts, guitar solos, mosh parts and even female vocals in the song ‘Vanish With A Rose’. The clean singing in this song makes it a pop song, which is very hazardous. The variety on this album is so great that it makes listening to it every time a pleasure.

The recording is done by Mister Jacob Hatesphere. The guy is a genius and he proves it again with this release. I’m already looking forward to the new Hatesphere when I hear him singing on this release. In the song ‘Good Death’ he gets to scream for some short passages.

Check this release out in the record store near you or visit a Zero Mentality show in a filthy club because the band plays all over Europe the coming months to promote this album.
