“Wow!” ...that’s what I thought the first ten minutes after the first seconds of the album called Centralia. This is the Relapse debut from Car Bomb. The band features ex-members from Soilent Green, Neck and Spooge and they play very hectic, progressive, technical and modern metal. That’s a whole mouth full you must think, and yes, listening this album did cost me a lot of energy. You’ve got to stay focused all the time.
The moniker for the music Car Bomb play would be math core. This kind of music is indeed very hectic and a band must do it good or otherwise shouldn’t. | |
I can’t really say that this band is very good with this kind of music. The music is too chaotic; when you listen to Dillinger it’s also chaotic but it sounds more complete. One song on this album sounds like a lot of short parts tied together. The songs have got a lot of tempo changes, mosh parts, slow parts, jazzy breaks and about everything flows out of my speakers in only half an hour.
Car Bomb has to work on their song writing to make more solid music. When they’ll do that I’ll be looking forward to their next album.
