How can anyone brutally mutilate songs on a cd, rendering it effectively unlistenable, to protect it from illegal distribution and at the same time expect a reviewer to gladly asses the ill-treated promo and produce a well-founded opinion is beyond me. When I pass a judgement I want to be able to listen in detail to the whole scope of a song. How would Motorhead’s ‘Overkill’ come across without the agitated first few riffs, or Emperor’s ‘Inno A Satana’ if the extremely ominous and atmospheric last 30 seconds were cut off? Not just having the songs fade in and out, this label thought it would be a splendid idea as well if the first 30 seconds of the following song blend with the last 30 seconds of the former. | |
You must be joking.
Based on the only two songs that are offered on the promo in full-length, I can say that Almah probably delivers a decent rendition of diverse approaches on power metal. Highly melodic keys, guitars and vocals by some of the scenes’ top musicians from Nightwish, Kamelot and Angra. Before spending any money however I’d strongly suggest anyone interested to download the unspoiled full-length and try it yourself.
