The German metal band Silent Force was founded in 2000 by guitar player Alexander Beyrodt. With Walk The Earth the band releases their third album, it is the first cd under the banner of AFM Records. Walk The Earth is an album of twelve melodic power metal songs with a superb sound! The band wrote the songs together, as a team. This is very clear and the result is an album with songs that shows how melodic power metal should sound: heavy, powerful, melodic and a great mix and sound.

This would suggest that Walk The Earth is a very strong album and this is partly true, though the songs aren’t original – I have heard such a songs many times – but they are performed superb. Especially the vocals (DC Cooper) and surely the guitar playing (Beyrodt) are very powerful. The first part of the album is absolutely great, the second part is less heavy; mid tempo songs and an acoustic ballad. The last song however is a very fast one with a lot of double bass drumming, a worthy ending of a metal album.

The first songs ‘Man & Machine’ and the title song are killing songs, everything fits on these songs, great vocals, terrific riffs, strong rhythm foundation, superb solos and still very melodic because of the keyboard playing. Alexander is a big fan of Rainbow, listen to the intro of ‘Point Of No Return’, this song is just as the above-mentioned songs very powerful, but more symphonic by the use of the violins. I like it!

Worth mentioning is ´Goodbye My Ghost´ where it is clear the band listened well to Paradise Lost (especially the riffs and choruses).

Conclusion: Walk The Earth is a melodic power metal album with a very strong first part and a less heavy and less stronger second part. Melodic power metal fans should absolutely listen to this record, guess you will buy Walk The Earth.
