A few months ago I got a message trough the rockezine.com myspace site. In that mail I was asked if was interested in an e-mail interview with Frankie the vocalist from Emmure. I never heard from this band before so a short interview is always nice for the band and for me to learn a new band.
While I did some research I noticed that they were in the studio with Zuess recording their Victory Records debut, and the band immediately became a lot more interesting. Then the interview was done and you can read it by clicking here

Zeuss recorded albums with all the big bands from this moment. Hatebreed, Unearth, Shadows Fall, Remembering Never, Throwdown, God Forbid, Madball, Blood Has Been Shed, Terror, Shai Hulud, All That Remains, 100 Demons, Full Blown Chaos, Sworn Enemy and Agnostic Front are just a few that cross my mind.

Emmure is a band which sound lies in the line of the bands I mentioned above. The only difference about Emmure is that their sound isn’t mature enough yet.

In less then 30 minutes the band gives you mosh parts, two step and screaming, just the normal nowadays mix between death metal and hardcore. Not very innovative but still very nice to have it in my compact disc player sometimes.
There’s one minus point about the album. Emmure tries to be very hard or better they try to be very cool (you know like cool guys) and that makes some things a little bit fake in their sound. I think this is very hard to explain. For example, when somebody is lying to you, you notice it. Well that’s the same with the sound/feeling I get with this album.

Goodbye To The Gallows is a very nice album. My tip for this band is, keep on going and try to put the real you in the music.
