When I saw the name Sounds Like Violence a few years ago somewhere I thought that is was a very hard hardcore or metal band. Unfortunately (I thought at that time) it wasn’t through.
This Swedish band sounds more like a poppy rock band with a lot of punk influence. The music is in the line of The Killers, The Hives and comparable bands. The sound has really nothing to do with metal.
Luckily it isn’t a statement that metal is the only good music in this world. When I saw their name and I heard some earlier recordings I really liked their sound and vibe.
On their newest effort they still have that same vibe and they prove that they have got a lot of potential. | |
Sounds Like Violence is not just a band like thousand of other bands. This band has some unique thing and that thing is the feeling they bring while listening their music.
All the songs are about broken love or about somebody who died. Vocalist Andreas sings the lyrics with such a conviction and emotion in is voice.
Next to the voice the other musicians also put their feeling on the record. That’s something you notice directly and it pays of because it made this one of the best albums for this year so far.
