Drone is famous for winning a big metal contest. There were a lot of rounds with ca. 1500 bands participating in the contest. In the finale at the Wacken Open Air festival Drone showed the audience and the jury that they were the best. Those contests are a nice way to promote your band and maybe to earn some bucks.

I don’t know who was in the jury for this contest or the level from the other 1499 bands, but I think there was something wrong with the ears from some people in the jury. If this was the best band from the whole contest I don’t think the general level wasn’t very high.

This release has got really nothing special.

The influence from Drone goes from thrash to a lot of Machine Head.
The first two songs of this album are very good. But after this I don’t know what happened with this. The songs and band get worse and worse. It’s a pity that Drone didn’t keep the quality from the beginning of the album, there’s nothing special in their sound what makes me happy.
The worst part of it is the saw you hear in Chainsaw Symphony. This is really over the top and it adds nothing to the music.

There’s a Brazilian phrase for this band, it doesn’t smell bad or good, they just don’t smell like anything at all.
