More than ever Nightrage tries to reach a big crowd with their melodic death metal. A lot of clean singing is the reason A New Disease Is Born can be compared with the popular metalcore genre and bands like Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying and Caliban. But also the melodic death metal from bands as Soilwork and In Flames can be mentioned as an influence. Personally I don’t think the world is waiting for another band doing the thing that is been done so many times before.

It’s a shame that Nightrage choose to take this road, because you can hear that the songs on A New Disease Is Born are really well-written and the craftsmanship is great.

The production fits the whole picture and makes this album a modern, melodic, tight, but not really original disc.

For people who are really into the above mentioned bands and can’t get enough the combination of melodic trash/death combined with catchy, poppy choruses, Nightrage is your band and A New Disease Is Born is an album you need to check out!
