Damn!!! What the hell is this? When I looked at the band pictures I thought I could expect a soppy emocore band. But the first riffs made sure this wasn’t the case. The band claims to be a combination of Necrophagist, Dragonforce and Between The Buried And Me. I couldn’t have given a better comparison to describe the style Sacramento’s With Passion plays. The musical skills of this quintet are amazing and sweep (yes sweep) you of your feet from the first second.
On the other hand, what you often see with bands that base their music around their technical abilities is that the song structures become unclear or even nonexistent.

And that is the case with What We See When We Shut Our Eyes. I get the idea that I’m listening to 50 minutes of experimental and trash/death/hardcore riffs glued together. After a few songs I get tired and cannot keep my attention on the hyperactive riffing. If you’re into Negrophagist, Between The Buried And Me and Origin check these guys out.
