With Lost In Life the Dutch progressive rock band Casual Silence releases their fourth album, and it has to be said this is a jewel in this genre. Eight songs with great structure, beautiful melodies, symphonic elements and great solos (guitar and keyboard), a typical voice that fits with the songs. Lost in Life gets even more value because of the additional vocals of Damion Wilson and above Sandra Peeters, a beautiful voice that fits totally with the songs on Lost In Life. The songs are rather long, the shortest one takes almost six minutes, the longest tracks (‘Memories’) is longer than ten minutes. Notwithstanding the length of the songs, they never get boring.

On the contrary, because of the structure and melodies the songs keep your interest! Although the songs are mostly progressive rock songs, the riffs are sometimes quite heavy (‘Pieces of Loss’). It is the combination of these elements that make Lost In Life an absolutely great album. It’s hard to choose a favourite track, but the instrumental ‘Pieces of Loss’ and the ballad ‘Masquerade’ (listen to that solo!) are really great. But now I realize I wrong the other songs, all songs are highlights. Al in one: fans of progressive rock, just buy this album!!! Lost In Life is a must for every progressive rock fan!
