Shadows Fall has become one of the biggest metal bands of the moment. Together with their buddy`s from Killswitch Engage, they are the leaders, i.e. route planners and they pave the way for a lot of other new heavy metal bands.
In the late 1970’s there were a bunch of Britains who were called The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. These were the first bands that did some new stuff. A few years ago there was someone who called the Shadows Fall-sound the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal. It must be an American who used that name, because it isn’t original anymore. As you might already know, the Shadows Fall-sound is influenced by bands out of The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal period. The band gave that their own spin and, voila.
Shadows Fall`s newest effort is released on a new label, but furthermore offers no spectacular new things. | |
Threads Of Life is again a powerful album with a lot of technical guitar solo`s and riffs. Just like they did on the earlier releases but then more grown.
The most lovely thing about Shadows Fall is the ballad `Another Hero Lost`. I hope the band plays their songs in an unplugged session. I think the songs, the members and the Shadows Fall audience are almost ready for this.
With Threads Of Life, Shadows Fall proves that they deserve to be one of the biggest in the genre. They also prove that they still are growing and that they’re still not ready. I’m looking forward to the European tour and their next album already.
