Spoiled kid Matthew K. Heafy from Trivium discovered this band at one of their shows and was so excited about Sanctity that he called some friends at Roadrunner to arrange a demo exchange between the band and the label. At almost the same moment Dave Mustaine saw the band and asked Sanctity to play with Megadeath on the Gigantour.

The people at Roadrunner must have thought that this must be a very special band when two frontmen from two big bands on their roster got so excited about them.
The first thing I noticed while listening to `Road To Bloodshed` is the resemblance to Trivium. Sometimes I think that I’m listening to Trivium’s latest effort `Crusade` (I love that album) and the next I hear the high screaming like it’s Tim Ripper Owens.

Road To Bloodshed is definitely not a boring album. Every time you think that you know what Sanctity is going to do or you think that there’s another typical Trivium riff, the band turns 180 degrees and does something different.
The basic sound from Sanctity is the old-school metal in the line of Testament, Iron Maiden and so on. Combine that basic metal with some new thrash, put it in a blender and voila you’ve got Sanctity.

This debut album is a very nice one. The only problem I have with `Road To Bloodshed` is that it’s too much like Trivium.
