Viberider is the lucky band that won the Nu Of Nooit final 2007. Winning this contest means that they can open the Pinkpop festival in Landgraaf (Netherlands). Pinkpop is the oldest music festival in Europe, so that should be a very special moment for this young band. `Evolve The Long Lead` is the debut album of this Dutch band and it is a mix between stoner, rock and pop. It`s an album that`s difficult to get into, I had to listen to it for several times before I started liking parts of it.

Viberider tries to create a certain vibe with this album that doesn’t work for me. Too much Lenny Kravitz-riffs or too winded parts aren`t really my thing. I can’t keep my attention while listening the whole album.

I can understand that this is a band for the summer festivals. Some parts of the album do rock hard and with some special light effects and some crazy people on stage it must be great to see. Another positive thing for the summer festivals is their mix of pop and rock; a combination that almost always works on the more commercial festivals, like Pinkpop.
For me this album sounds too unnatural. I think this band has worked very long on all the songs and that’s why there are parts in almost every song that aren`t very convincing.
After all this is not a bad sounding album and I can recommend it to you if you like some weird sounding pop-rock like Lenny Kravitz.
