Another release from the ‘People Like You’ label. This time from Germany they present to you: Frontkick. An optimist punk band that began as a streetpunk combo. There are still some influences from that genre waved into their music. But most of all it’s melodic punkrock that’s coming out of the speakers.

‘ Cause of the rebel’ is a pretty decent record. They got nice hooks and melody lines and they sound professional, and with vocalist Marti Neurtoic, they have one hell of a singer in their line up. He can sing in different styles and bring up different spheres and feelings. The same with the songs, they are optimistic, sometimes aggressive, but all times melodic.

‘ Light Up Your Throne’ is an aggressive up tempo punk rock song with that optimistic feeling I wrote about. There are more like that on this record, mixed with more ‘ nicely sounding’ songs. Those are the better ones on this record, but it’s a matter of taste. As Always.
They somehow remind me of a harder version of Undeclinable or a softer version of the Welch Boys. However, it’s a record that is better than average, cause some songs will remain in your head. For fans of Dropkick Murphy’s, Discipline and Born To Lose.
