Just a few days ago I reviewed the new Job For a Cowboy record. I said they’d probably end up in my top 5 albums of the year, but if I keep getting albums like this one send to my address this might be a problem for JFAC.
Scotland’s Man Must Die actually uses a lot of the same elements JFAC does. Modern deathmetal combined with thrashmetal and some math-parts. The only difference is that Man Must Die is more melodic than there ‘genre-buddies’ The Red Chord and JFAC. They use more Swedish thrash/death influences which makes The Human Condition an album that’s more open to fans of that genre as well. | |
Production wise The Human Condition sound brutal and tight, but the drums sound a little too digital for my taste. A more natural drumsound would make the overall sound thicker and less ‘computerish’. But that’s the only negative criticism I have, because this till a few days ago unknown band to me really blew me away.
If you’re into The Red Chord, Job For A Cowboy, The Black Dahlia Murder, At The Gates or Kataklysm you need to check out this cd.
