A few months ago Bridge Nine Records re-released the successful Death Before Dishonor album Friends Family Forever as a teaser for the new effort from this old-school hardcore band.
On this new album the band lets us know that three things are still really important for the hardcore scene and the old-school hardcore listener.
The first thing you notice while listening is that old-school hardcore will never change. This band is not spectacular in inventing new stuff. The old-school hardcore moshparts, riffs and sing along parts are passing by in every song. The band won’t stop and you’ve got thirteen songs within 28 minutes. | |
The second thing that passes your mind is that hardcore music is live music and it will never be better on an album. The energy you feel at a show is so intense that putting it on an album is almost impossible. Death Before Dishonor is a great live band and their new songs will sound better on stage then on this album.
And finally the last one: “Hardcore will never die”.
The old-school sound and knowing that this band is tearing apart the venue during every show makes this album into a very nice one. This album is recommendable for everyone who likes hardcore.
