Anterior is a new band were Metalblade lay their hands on. This band has the typical new metal sound, some people call this “the new wave of American metal”.

With these first words you might already know how this album sounds. Yes you’re right it sounds like the million other bands that are making this music. This doesn’t mean that they are bad or not a pleasure to listen. It means that they don’t have an own sound.
Off course it’s very difficult to create your own sound these day, but copying the sound every band does is also not a very good thing. If they would`ve released this album six years ago it would definitely have been a killer and everybody`d loved it. Now you can say: “I heard this several times before and I own a few album that sound allmost exactly the same in my collection”.

There’s nothing that Anterior has that other bands don’t have. Anterior has the hardcore vocals and the 80’s metal guitar sound. Compare it with Trivium or Unearth, but then more guitar solo’s.

This Age Of Silence is a good sounding album with nothing new.
