Semistereo is a Dutch band that has been influenced by bands like Radiohead, Pink Floyd and The Doors. While listening to As The Pressure Drops you can clearly hear these bands are a big influence.

Radiohead is the first influence you`ll notice. Vocalist Stevan has some Thom Yorke draw outs and has a depressive sounding voice. Sometimes he tries to sound like Thom Yorke on Pablo Honey just a bit too much.

The entire cd will give you the feeling that this band tries to be something that they`re not. You know the feeling when there’s somebody fake laughing about a joke, that’s the same feeling this album gave me.

Semistereo could be a band to look out for in the future. After listening to this EP I`m not sure if this is the best they can do or if they can do a lot better. The most important thing is that they have get their own sound.
