This by Roadrunner labeled 80’s heavy/speed metal band have delivered a little disapointing album. The change of bandmembers didn’t bring them progression. The songs are not real adventures like previous album ‘Advance And Anguish’.
The recordings of Fire up the Blades is real metallic and fits perfect with this metal genre, and is done by Joey Jordison and Zeuss.
Also the power of the hardcore throat of Jamie Hooper is pushed little more to the back. Now the other lead singer Cam Pipes takes the most singing parts. His vocal escapades are not always easy to digest so you have to like the sometimes extreem high screams. | |
It brings a little Judas Priest feel to it. Musicaly there is not much news on this album but that doesn’t mean that its bad. There still are some fine metal tracks on it, and for the real fan of the genre you can certainly listen to this. Tracks like ‘Forest King’ and ‘Trial of Champions’ are fine songs and of course there is more. Ok conclussion; not always interesting but a good recording and some fine metal tracks makes this a fair album.
