After ‘Clients’ The Red Chord became a household name in the homes of people who love death/grind/math/core, a combination that a lot of new bands seem to be inspired by. Because this ‘new’ stream of music is really catching on I feared that ‘Prey for eyes’ wouldn’t have the same impact as ‘ Clients’ did a few years ago. Fortunately this isn’t the case at all since ‘Prey for eyes’ is a typical The Red Chord album, but there are noticeable differences as well.

Songs as ‘Send the deathstorm’ and title song ‘Prey for eyes’ really stand out and even have a catchy ring to them.

But besides raging and pounding The Red Chord also took the time to create some melodic, mid-tempo, experimental stuff, the song ‘It came from over there’ is a good example of this.

The Red Chord pulled it off and amazed me ones again and ‘Prey for eyes’ is truly a masterpiece which I can recommend everyone who was into the bands previous albums or the following bands: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Cephalic Carnage, Job For A Cowboy, Despiced Icon or Meshuggah
