Still Remains is a very young band that already did some nice tours and inked a deal with Roadrunner records. A dream for every kid who plays in a band came true for these guys.

So now it’s time to check out their new album and listen if the band made an album that is roadrunner worthy.
Still Remains definitely did what every label loves. They made an album in the line from their earlier work but then more commercial and less aggressive. The aggressive lyrics are a bit unnatural and you know this for sure when you see the pictures from these young guys. It`s not very trustworthy to for example hear the singer sing: “I’m your worst nightmare”. With his young voice you can’t imagine that he’s a bigger nightmare then your old ant or your teacher. The singers voice does have a lot of growth possibilities though.

On this new album he doesn’t scream as much as before and he reaches higher and lower notes with his voice.

The music is played very well and they worked very hard on it. It’s a mix of emocore and soft metal I guess. The keyboards are a little bit louder then their earlier albums. The songs are way more commercial. The songs sound like possible hitparades-songs.

The music on The Serpent sounds very catchy and for the real metal fan it’s to soft and commercial. On the other hand this album is a must have for all the young kids who love Trivium, Sanctity (which are also two Roadrunner bands) and music from the emocore genre.
