In the melodic metal scene are lots of different ways of filling in the melodic atmosphere in heavy music. The Dutch band Profound has her own interpretation if how to make melodic metal. This is mentioned absolutely in a positive way. With the melodic riffs it sounds like the guitar is subtle playing all the time instead of the regular riffs. This makes the music of Profound very refreshing. Take this element and add some great vocals, terrific solos, a solid base guitar carpet, a strong rhythm foundation and a good sound and you have all ingredients to make an album with absolutely great melodic metal songs. Profound is really making a world of their own.

“A world of my own making” is best described as melodic metal with progressive elements. The album hasn’t any less strong songs; this album will pleasure you for almost 50 minutes. The only thing that you will do after listening the album will be pushing the repeat button. The songs ‘Hidden Treasure’ and ‘A Way of my Life’ are really worth mentioning; this is progressive melodic metal at the best. The instrumental ‘The Places I’ve Been’ is a worthy last track of an impressive album.

In short: This album will be an admirable completion of your cd collection. So just buy this album.
