Emerging isn’t an album that impresses you by just listening to it once. You need to listen to it several times and it will keep on surprising you.
Emerging is the debut album from Obsidian, and this is not a very old band. In 2006 they released this album already with another vocalist. But with a label on their side and a new singer Obsidian decided to re-record the vocals and Jochem Jacobs from Textures re-mastered the whole thing.

Obsidian has a typical Dutch sound.

It’s a mix between bands as Cypher, Detonation, Mesuggah and Textures with a touch of their own. In the Netherlands there’s a television commercial that says: “a little bit of Maggi and a little bit of yourself”.
Expect a lot of technical stuff mixed with heavy brutal elements.

Emerging is a good album and Rusty Cage record continues releasing good albums.
