During the sabbatical of a band there are always members who can’t sit still. This is the same with Rammstein guitar player Richard Z. Kruspe.
Under the name Emigrate he recorded an album which is also called Emigrate. And off course we are going to compare this album with the albums from the German heroes.

Yes! Emigrate has the Rammstein vibe and sound, with a little bit more of an industrial touch. Besides influences from his other band you hear some early Oomph! and Depeche Mode. When Kruspe wouldn’t play in one of the best selling German acts, you might call this a good Rammstein copy with an own sound in it.

The best part, besides the sound and feeling it gives, are the lyrics. Kruspe sings about his personal feelings. In My Tears is definitely the highlight when we talk about lyrics. He also explains his love for New York. With this album he laid his soul open to us and that’s what true musicians do.

When you like Rammstein, Oomph!, Depeche Mode or just some rock music you will like this one. After listening this album I put on my entire Rammstein collection and prayed for a new album soon. In the meantime you can listen to Emigrate.
