The album The Sweet Trade is the second album of the Swedish band The Poodles. The Swedish glam rock band combines the polished sound of the glam rock with the somewhat rough vocals of Jakob Samuel and the powerful guitar solos by Pontus Norgren. The debut album was rather successful thus the expectations of the second album were rather high. Sweet Trade won’t disappoint the fans.

Sweet Trade has become more an album of the whole band than Metal Will Stand Tall does. ‘Seven Seas’ (the rather successful single) is a powerful rock song with powerful voices and (quite short) guitar solo. ‘Thunderball’ is a rock song with influences of AC/DC, especially in the riffs of the first part of the song.

Most songs are rock songs; ‘Flesh and Blood’ is a rather commercial song that sounds rather familiar when you listen it at the first time. ‘Walk the Line’ (great bass guitar playing) and ‘Without You’ are worth mentioning. Last song starts just like ‘Heaven’s Closing Again’ as a rather polished song which changes into a real heavy rock song with a great solo.

Sweet Trade is a melodic rock album that is worth listening to; the melodic rock songs and the vocals guarantee a real party, that’s for sure.
