Since Integrity has quitted, the best ‘Clevo’ sounding records are coming from Belgium with bands like Rise and Fall and Black Haven. This month Ringworm proves they are still the best band in that particular sounding genre, with their new record called ‘The venomous grand desgin’
12 songs + an intro are taking you to a state of total diffusion and aggression. Ringworm is one of those bands that sounds really mean you could almost be scared of it. ‘The Venomous..’ Ii no different.
It begins with the hysterical intro ‘Things are not as they seen ‘ wich is followed up by the aggressive driven ‘The cage’. ‘ Ninth Circle’ , ‘ Razor’s Line’ and ‘ I preach to no one’ are good examples where Ringworm stands for. | |
Intense songs by an intense band. Almost every song has it’s unique elements, and are pretty up tempo agressvive metalcore influenced. And I’m happy to hear a good metalcore record without trendy hypes or simple breakdown formula bands.
The (acoustic)Intermission’ Diochrome’ is welcome between all this violence. But they happily continue spraying great songs after this interlude.
Some may say they’ve had their days, but I think Ringworm still holds a strong place in the metalcore scene today. This record proves to me they’re still in the major league.
Will this bring Ringworm more fame? Time shall tell, but they have produced an outstanding new record.
