Yes, this is an album I’ve been expecting for some time now. As I consider The Black Dahlia Murder to be one of my favorit band you can imagine what a happy man I was to find Nocturnal lying on my doorstep after a hard day of work. I can tell you I wasn’t dissapointed when Nocturnal found it’s way into my computer. And this is an understatement because I think Nocturnal is the bands best work so far.
Where A Cold Blooded Epitaph (2002) and Unhollowed (2003) were raw and rebellious and Miasma (2005) was technical and heavier than ever, Nocturnal is their grown up brother and a step further towards perfection. | |
With the ingredients (thrash/death/some black) and the combination of low grunts and high pitched screams the band does what their known for and what they’re really good at. Ok these ingredients might not be the most original, but TBDM is a band that knows how to mix these ingredients and make them into the sound that makes this band stand out on top of so many others.
Nocturnal is absolutly the best thing I’ve heard this year and I can advice every death/thrash fan to buy this thing of beauty or at least check out their new songs on www.myspace.com/blackdahliamurder
