If you’re planning a ‘ battlefield theme party’ with games like Strategy and chess, games like ‘ age of empires’ and ‘ Knights & Kings’ (or something like that), be sure you’ll put on this new CD from Doomsword as a soundtrack.

From the first tunes of their 3rd record ‘My Name Will Live On’ it becomes pretty clear: heavy/power/epic metal that stands right in the middle of a battlefield. You can almost wreak the old costumes and swords, and while closing your eyes you see those brave knights fighting each other.

They’re good in playing this kind of music. It’s somewhat slower than your average (Italian) epic metal band.

And sometimes heavier and more doom influenced (Like in the song ‘Death of Perdia`). The hymns also are present. I see a lot of brutal warriors sing ‘Claidheamh solais’ side to side. With a big pint in one hand.

I can hear they’re good in what they’re doing, but names like ‘Deathmaster’ is almost bridge too far to be taken serious. And the total devotion to ancient times and legends shows some devotion, but it’s too much for me. So I recommend you’re having tunes of beer at your ‘battlefield party’. Then it will be ok.
