If you’re into up tempo combinations of eighties hard rock and heavy metal you might check Widow’s fourth album out. I’m no fan of the genre and “Nightlife” isn’t gonna change that. As usual the fast songs are too fast (“First Born”) and the balladic sections are way too slow (“Cult Of Life”). Nevertheless the band is bound to get attention in the hard rock scene.

The sound is excellent and the influences obvious (Alice Cooper). The band added covers of Van Halen (Äin’t Talking Bout Love” and “I Stole Your Love”. I don’t exactly understand why, the first nine tracks prove that Widow is perfectlly capably of writing their own music.
