Paul Gilbert is a well-known guitarplayer, who established his reputation at age 19 being part of the legendary Racer X. And, he was a founding member of the very famous Mr. Big. This new cd "Raw Blues Power" is his 5th solo album since he left Mr. Big back in 1997. It features Paul jamming with his guitar-playing uncle, Jimi Kidd. In the bio Paul says: "I really got excited about the idea of doing an album with my uncle Jimi. Over the years, I followed my passion for rock, metal and speed guitar playing.

Jimi plays stunning rock guitar, but also plays great blues and slide. For `Raw Blues Power`, we put our styles together and came up with a killer guitar record." And a killer record it is. If you`re into bluesy rock guitars, then this is a cd for you. Paul and Jimi traded off lead vocals and songwriting duties. It`s recorded almost completely live and with very little rehearsal, which gives this album a very lively and open atmosphere. The blues is powerful and the emotion is raw.
