Cythraul is a band from Purmerend, the Netherlands. And is far as I know this is the first MCD the band releases. They did release a demo tape some time ago. Cythraul plays a kind of melodic Swedish death metal with as main influences In Flames and in some way also (old) Dark Tranquility. The songs are well structured, the double bass riffs all right and vocalist Robert has a raw death grunt. But Cythraul should try to search for an own touch and to make their songs more compact.

The more up tempo black parts is something to maintain for the future. They bring variation. Nevertheless, songs as “Slaughtered” and the title song are nice pieces of work and even Eddy (IM) shuts an eye. But as a band you really have to bring more to make a difference in this big genre.
